Testimonials!

“Hi Nancy,

I wanted to thank you for such a great class you gave last night at the Town of Islip. I'm sure that Riley and I will really benefit from all the tips and training that was shared. It was very fun as well as informative. I will definitely be telling my friends about the program. Now that I know I can take her to all the Suffolk parks, I'm going to spend more time hiking in the parks - I never knew that about our county parks. I want to be the best doggy mommy that I can be and I think your training will help me do that. Thank you so much!” Joanne Donnelly, Middle Island, NY

“I liked the fact that the class had different types of experts from the professional dog world. We were encouraged to ask questions. I wish that other towns offered these classes.”

“I would love to see Responsible Dog Owners classes held in all towns across Long Island. Although I have been a dog owner for most of my 60 plus years, I did learn a lot when I went to a class in Islip. People who attended the class included a lady who was considering getting a dog. She was not sure if she would be buying or adopting, but what a good idea, get information before getting a dog! Nancy, who sets this up, is so dedicated and is a wealth of information about dogs. We were able to ask questions of a vet and trainers who also gave their time and had a lot of information. I have recommended this class to friends who attended the Huntington class. They have owned shelter dogs for many years, and were very impressed by all of the information that was available at the class. I feel so strongly if more towns offered classes like this there might not be so many returns or drop offs to the local shelters by people who really have no idea about the responsibility of owning a dog. Thanks to Nancy and all of those who make these classes possible. Alberta Hanko Islip, NY

“Overall I thought it was excellent – the guest speakers were helpful and very knowledgeable. I’m glad we came.” Donna Hurley Wantagh, NY

“This class more than met my expectations. I loved everything about it and am so glad I could bring my daughter with me so she could learn as well. It was wonderful, thank you so much!” Kathleen Di Colandrea Independent Small Breed Rescue Babylon, NY

“I think the class was very informative. We all learned a lot about dog behavior, training, and medical information. We highly recommend this class to all dog owners!! Thank you very much.” Ray Quinones East Islip, NY

“In having had the chance to recently attend the Free Responsible Dog Ownership class in Huntington, I felt reinforced on how to maintain a better quality of life for my pet, society and me.Understanding how to deal with animal issues such as behavioral issues and training gave me that extra confidence to realize that it is possible to train my dog with proper techniques. Besides training and obedience issues the organizer Nancy Hassel touched on dog laws that are out there. Other topics that I felt were very important and that this class touched upon related to immunization, vaccines and nutrition.I truly felt that this class gave me a better understanding on how to take action in caring for a dog the right way. I feel that this class, being that it is an interactive class (questions/answers) betters an individual who needs some direction in maintaining a healthy obedient dog. Thanks for the class.” Assunta Ianiro Paralegal Glen Cove, NY

“As a non-dog owner I was interested and surprised at the amount of information that was discussed in the class. I found it most informative, particularly the discussion on courtesy for dog handlers. My daughter, who does own a puppy found the class equally as informative. I think the class definitely serves our community in a most positive way.” Maureen McKean Sayville, NY
